Get To Know Your Attorney

Posted by Jason Rapp | Nov 12, 2019 | 0 Comments

So, you are in need of an attorney.  In 99.9% of cases, that is unfortunate news.  No one ever WANTS to have to contact an attorney.  But, since you are reading this, I assume you have found yourself in a position of needing one.  In searching through websites and looking at credentials you can certainly become overwhelmed by the thought of which attorney to call.  How do you know they will be as good as advertised?  I hope to help you out with that by doing something so few of us do.  I am going to let you get to know me before you ever place a call.

As far as my credentials go, I have been practicing for over twenty years in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Law.  I am confident that I can handle your matter for you and maximize your results.  But, you can look at the other areas of this website for that.  I want you to get to know me.  You should be 100% comfortable with the attorney you hire.

At the outset, let me tell you what I am not.  I am not a yeller or a screamer.  I am not overly dramatic or emotional.  I always joke with clients that, if you want that, hire a professional wrestler.

However, what I am is competitive.  I have been that way my whole life.  I am one of those people who hates losing much more than I enjoy winning.  I am also a storyteller.  If you think about it, your legal matter is your story and you need to hire an attorney that will not only protect your rights but will effectively tell your story as well.  Effective communication is a cornerstone to any pleading, court appearance or trial.  I will effectively tell your story.

I also believe that information is not only power, but a sedative.  The more information you have, the more relaxed you will be.  That is why we will discuss not only the law but procedure, judicial tendencies and reasons for strategies.  I want you to be able to sleep at night.

Now, you will notice that above I wrote that I am not overly dramatic or emotional.  That is true.  However, while I do approach all matters from a reasoned and logical viewpoint, I am also passionate.  that is where the competitive aspect of my personality comes in.  I enjoy litigating matters and going to court.  However, I will also work to employ a strategy that is in YOUR best interests.  If working out an agreement is in your best interests, we will go down that road.  It is all about what are in your best interests.

This ties in to another aspect that I want you to know.  I will never tell you what you want to hear.  From me, you will always get the truth whether it be good, bad or indifferent.  You do not want a one-sided cheerleader.  You want, need and demand an honest assessment, counsel and advice.  I will give you complete advice, information and counsel.  This way, when you make your decisions, you will be able to rest assured that they were made based upon complete analysis and a forthright heart and mind.

After all, it is your life.  That ties in to my final point.  I want you to have the best life possible.
